Definitions

  • Company: Rapid Emergency Plumbing, trading via www.rapidplumber.org

  • Customer: The individual or party seeking emergency plumbing or maintenance services.

  • Contractor: A self-employed engineer or tradesperson performing services at the customer's property.

  • Works: Emergency or remedial repairs carried out by a contractor.

Our Role

Rapid Emergency Plumbing acts solely as an introducer, connecting customers with independent contractors for emergency and reactive plumbing work. All contractors within our network are self-employed and operate independently of Rapid Emergency Plumbing.

While we take reasonable steps to ensure contractors are qualified and vetted, Rapid Plumber cannot and does not accept liability for the quality or outcome of the works performed. Once a contractor has been introduced to a customer, any further arrangements are made directly between those parties.

Unless explicitly stated otherwise, all services arranged via Rapid Plumber are considered urgent in nature.

Contractor Responsibilities & Indemnity

By accepting a job from Rapid Emergency Plumbing:

  • You agree that you are competent, qualified, and insured to carry out the required works.

  • You take full responsibility for the performance and outcome of the job.

  • You acknowledge that Rapid Plumber cannot be held liable for your attendance, conduct, workmanship, or any disputes arising from the services you deliver.

  • You agree that any failure to attend or complete a job may impact your eligibility for future job referrals.

Payments & Charges

When accepting a job via Rapid Emergency Plumbing, you agree to the following:

  • Payment Terms: The customer will pay you directly after completion of the first job, or within an agreed timeframe (no later than 14 days from receipt of your invoice).

  • Rate Limits: You may only charge up to £75 per hour (plus the cost of any required parts).

  • Travel Time: Travel time is not billable.

  • Invoices: You must provide a professional invoice to the customer at the time of or following completion of the job with a 14 day payment request.

  • Payment Methods: You must accept more than one form of payment (e.g. bank transfer and card).

Rapid Emergency Plumbing is not responsible for any payment disputes between you and the customer. All such matters must be resolved directly.

You are also expected to comply with the Pre-Action Protocol for Debt Claims before pursuing any unpaid invoices.

Remedial / Follow-Up Works

Rapid Emergency Plumbing does not request or accept commissions for any follow-up work you carry out with the customer. Upon your acceptance of a job, you enter into a direct agreement with the customer, and Rapid Plumber’s involvement ends.

You are free to arrange additional services or repairs with the customer independently, subject to professional conduct and fair pricing.

Cancellations

Rapid Emergency Plumbers is not responsible for cancellations made by the customer once a job has been accepted. If a contractor attends the property and is unable to carry out the work due to cancellation, non-attendance, or lack of access, they may charge a reasonable aborted job fee — but only up to the amount agreed during job confirmation.

Rapid Plumber will make reasonable efforts to notify you of any cancellations, but accepts no liability for any resulting loss of time or expenses incurred.

Licenses, Permits & Legal Compliance

The customer is solely responsible for securing any necessary permissions, permits, or consents required before any works can be carried out (e.g. landlord consent, planning permissions).

Contractors are responsible for ensuring they operate within the law and comply with all regulations, including but not limited to:

  • Gas Safe certification for gas-related works

  • Environmental and health & safety compliance

  • Public liability insurance coverage

All guarantees or warranties offered are between you and the customer and must be made clear at the time of service.
